Troy Clifford Rippey age 72 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Rippey was born on December 9, 1939 in Carroll County, Virginia to Dallas and Beulah Jones Rippey.

He is survived by his wife Helen Rippey of Galax, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Cindy and James Riggins of Galax, Virginia; Melissa and Bill Floyd of Pungoteague, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Geneva and Coy Hawks of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Mary Ann Fitzgerald of Covington, Virginia; brothers and sister-in-law Randy and Becky Rippey of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Curtis Rippey of Burlington, North Carolina, sister-in-law Lois Rippey of Galax, Virginia; brother-in-law Charles Kinzer of Independence, Virginia; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two step-great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; lots of special friends.

The funeral service will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. James Cowley officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to either the Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund or the Twin County Hospice.
