Treva Elizabeth Branson, 87, of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday November 9th at her home.

She was born on October 22, 1925 in Ashe County, North Carolina to Edward Franklin Combs and Laura Leann Thompson Combs.

In addition to her parents, Treva was preceded in death by two husbands; Robert Thomas Johnson, who was the father of her children, and Lloyd Clifton Branson. She was also preceded in death by one infant sister and her three brothers; Robert E. Lee Combs, Marcus Burl Combs and Frank Levery Combs and one nephew Robert Lee Combs.

Treva is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Suzie Johnson and Edward Dean May of Galax, one son and daughter-in-law Donald Glenn and Barbara Bell Johnson of Galax, one grandchild; Robert Edward May of Greensboro, North Carolina, three nieces and their husbands Joann and Bill Marshall of Indianapolis, Indiana; Patricia and Thomas Manula of Newburn, North Carolina; Gail and Wendell Suggs of High Point, North Carolina. She is also survived by one sister-in-law Helen Gilley Combs of High Point, North Carolina, widow of Frank L. Combs.

A small and private service will be held by family at a later date and location to be determined.

The family respectfully ask that in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations be mad in her memory to the Tuckerdale Baptist Church in Lansing, North Carolina or to the Humane Society of the United States.
