Tressie Caudill Edwards, 88, formerly of the Baywood Community, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the home of her son Earnest in Sparta, NC. She was born August 4, 1922 in North Carolina to Joe and Mae Edwards Caudill. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Hastin C. Edwards, son Don R. Rector, and two step daughters Sylvia Anderson and Christine Weatherby.


Mrs. Edwards is survived by son Earnest Rector, daughter & son-in-law Doris Smith and Terry all of Sparta, NC; step daughter Iva Lee Whitaker of Sparta and step son Larry Rector of State Road, North Carolina. Seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Mark Carico officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until service time. Interment will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery.
