Towana Smith Cox, age 64, of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday December 22, 2022 in her home.

Towana was born on October 27, 1958 in Sparta, North Carolina to Raymond and Treva Edwards Smith. She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Clyde Smith.

She is survived by her husband Danny Cox, of Galax, Virginia; mother Treva Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law Tommy and Melissa Smith of Ennice, North Carolina and Lucas and Brooke Smith of King, North Carolina. Also surviving are nephews Nickolas Thodos, Cody Smith (Lauren); and niece Noelle Segraves (Darren).

A graveside service will be held Tuesday December 27, 2022 at 11AM in Saddle Mountain Cemetery with Russ Cox officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
