Tony Ray Crowder age 48 of Austinville, Virginia passed Sunday, January 5, 2014 at his home.

Tony was born in Galax, Virginia on September 17, 1965 to David Melvin and Shelby Clemons Crowder. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother Dana Melvin Crowder and a special nephew David M. Crowder.

Tony was a deacon at the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is survived by his wife Carol Summey Crowder; daughter and fiance' Stephanie Nicole Crowder and Jacob Robert Rutherford all of Austinville, Virginia; mother and step-father Shelby Clemons McLean and Robert McLean; sister and brother-in-law Connie Crowder Whittington and Harrell "Jody" Whittington; step-sister and husband Tammie and Tracy Smith all of Galax, Virginia; five nieces; eleven great
nieces and nephews; special friends and work family at Aaron's Sales and Lease in Galax, Virginia-the Carolina Division.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jeff Pickett and the Rev. Robert McLean officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church.
