Thursey Alice Funk age 83 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Funk was born in Illinois on February 25, 1924 to John & Donie Wyatt Patton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Kathleen Hudson. Mrs. Funk is survived by her husband Charles I. Funk of Galax, Va.; daughter & son-in-law Betty L. & Robert Leonard of Galax, Va.; son-in-law Ronnie Hudson of Ennice, N.C.; brother William John Patton of Galax, Va.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. James Cowley officiating. Burial will follow in Ballard Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from seven until nine at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
