Thurman Thelmois Parks' Obituary
Thurman Thelmois Parks, age 96 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the home of his son.
Mr. Parks was born in Jonesville, North Carolina on October 25, 1915 to Millard and Carrie Morrison Parks.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Alzelia Carter Parks; sons James Parks; Jerry Parks and Benny Parks.
He is survived by his daughters Linda Parks Robinson of West Orange, New Jersey; Jean Parks Mills of Huntersville, North Carolina; son William C. Parks of Galax, Virginia; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the CME Methodist Church with Pastor Barbara McCollum and Dr. Rev. William Pegues officiating. Burial will follow in
the Oldtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
