Thomas (T.F.) Franklin Rutherford

Thomas Franklin (T.F.) Rutherford age 92 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at this home.

Mr. Rutherford was born in Grayson County, Virginia on March 9, 1934 to Harve and Sallie Winnie Galyean Rutherford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Jo Ann Rutherford; grandson Barry Rutherford; brothers Harry Rutherford; Rudolph Rutherford (Luella) and half-brother Bruce Jones; sisters Eva Nichols (Louis); Iva Burcham (Archie) and Nina Carico (Mitchell).

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Bill Lintecum; son Dennis Franklin Rutherford; brother and sister-in-law Elder Herbert and Ruth Rutherford; two grandchildren Travis Lintecum and Gabriel (Olivia) Rutherford; three great-grandchildren Landon Lintecum; Laken Lintecum; Montana; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 12:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Elder Pete Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Glade Creek Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
