Thomas James (Jimmy) Sexton age 65 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
Jimmy was born on June 16, 1945 in Surry County, North Carolina to Thomas Jefferson and Edra Lundy Sexton.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Sylvia and Christopher Frost of Galax, Va.; sons and daughters-in-law Timothy Michael and Vickie Sexton of Galax, Va.; Jeffery T. and Lori Sexton of Woodlawn, Va.; Randall S. and Pam Sexton of Leesburg, Ga.; Joshua Sexton of Roanoke, Va.; sister Nancy Hooven of Galax, Va.; brother and sister-in-law Mark and Vickie Sexton of Galax, Va.; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nephew Alan Hooven; aunt Katie Golding; special friends Evaunda Waller; Arnold Grimm and Jackie Sexton.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Cas Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Gladeville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from six until eight pm at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
