Thelma Catherine Hamm, age 86, of Galax, VA passed away Wednesday, February 3 ^rd at her home.

Mrs. Hamm was born in Carroll County, Virginia on June 12, 1934 to Joseph Levert and Sarah Elizabeth Easter Hill.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Charles Hill, sister Juanita Caudill and daughter Deborah Sue Kirby.

She is survived by Jacky and Sherry Hamm of Hillsville, Virginia; Gary and Debbie Hamm of Longs, South Carolina; David Hamm of Fries, Virginia and Greg Hamm of Galax, Virginia. sister Wilma Nuckolls of Winston-Salem, North Carolina;  six (6) grandchildren, three (3) great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Thelma was a loving, kind and generous woman who loved her family and friends with all her heart.  She was well known in the community for her sourdough bread and delicious cakes.  She was a friend to so many and will surely be missed.

A private graveside service will be held for the family.
