Thelma Estelle Combs, 85, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 in the Life Care Center at Winter Haven, Florida. Mrs. Combs was born in Florida to the late William Harris and Lillie Belle Clifton Harris on July 5, 1928.


She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law: Karen Haines of Lakeland, Florida and Alesia and Richard Alpaugh of Athens, Georgia; two sons and daughter-in-law: Carl & Glenda Funk of Galax, Virginia and Larry Funk of Norwich, Connecticut. Eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Rock Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Grayson County, Virginia with Rev. David Moore officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
