Tessie Mary Williams Sexton, 86, of the Pipers Gap Community, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Waddell Nursing Home, Galax. Mrs. Sexton was born March 6, 1924 in Grayson County, Virginia to George Washington Williams and Lola Ann Hale Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother Jesse Williams, and three sisters and five brothers.

She is survived by her eight children and their spouses:, Judy Thomas, Jerry & Betty Sexton, Larry & Marsha Sexton, Ernest & Rynn Sexton all of Greenville, South Carolina; J. D. & Margaret Sexton, Dallas & Cathy Sexton, Randy & Dodi Sexton all of Galax, and Perry & Sandy Sexton of Livingston, Texas. Also surviving are two brothers Hobert & Robert Williams of Galax, sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, September 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Pisgah Church of Christ with Marvin Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Monta Vista Cemetery with Jim Canup officiating. The family will receive friends at the Mt. Pisgah Church of Christ from 1:00 PM until time for the service.
