Tessie Gertrude McCraw Poe age 95 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Commonwealth Assisted Living in Hillsville, Virginia.

Mrs. Poe was born in Galax, Virginia on October 27, 1923 to Johnny L. and Edna McBride McCraw. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Edgar Poe and two brothers Reginald McCraw and Ronald McCraw.

She is survived by a cousin and his wife Rodney and Eleanor Gillespie of Woodlawn, Virginia; uncle Jess McBride; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 6:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Felts Memoria Cemetery Tuesday at 10:00 AM.
