Tenny Jane Brown's Obituary
Tenny Jane Brown age 98 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, July 13, 2009 at her home.
Mrs. Brown was born in Alleghany County, N.C. on January 31, 1911 to John Tucker McMillian and Hannah Tucker McMillian. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Levi Brown and a son Vester Brown.
She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law Glenn & Carolyn Brown of Washington, DC; Verl Brown, Therman & Bea Brown all of Galax, Va.; Raymond Brown of Winston-Salem, N.C.; daughter & son-in-law:Lelia Ann & Rev. Jackie Reeves of Galax, Va.; daughter-in-law Viloa Brown of Pennsylvania; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty-six great-grandchildren; thirty-two great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 1:00 pm in River Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Gloria Richardson & Rev. Jackie Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior the funeral service at the church. The family will
receive friends Friday evening from seven until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
