Talmage Osborne Cox, Jr. (T. O.), 89, of Galax passed away Friday August 16, 2013 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born March 6, 1924 in Grayson County, Virginia to Talmage Osborne Cox, Sr. & Ohnah Kathleen Gentry Cox. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Cox.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda Cox Jemison and Terry of Alexandria, VA, Sarah Cox Gallimore & Ricky of Galax, VA; one son Talmage Osborne Cox III of Centreville, VA; four grandchildren Kelly Jemison, Douglas Jemison, Talmage Osborne Cox IV and Jenny, and Robert Daniel Cox. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Galax First United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery with military rites by Grayson VFW 7726. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
