Talmadge Jones age 89 of Fries, Va.passed away Monday, January 21,2008 in the VA Medical Center in Salem, Va.. Mr. Jones was born in Carroll County, Va. on September 28, 1918 to Walter & Mittie Carpenter Jones. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mae Jones. He is survived by a son Wayne Jones of Fries, Va.; step daughter Shirley Sayers of Austinville, Va.; sister Kate Byrd of Fries, Va.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 24,2008 at 11:00 am in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ken Blevins & Rev. Roy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
