Sylvia Rose Fields age 65 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at her home.

Sylvia was born in Sparta, North Carolina on October 31, 1951 to John Robert and Ina Estella Owens Delp. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father Paul Funk and granddaughter Ashley Fields.

She is survived by her husband David Fields of Galax, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Debbie and Mike Lister of Galax, Virginia; Patty Fields and Greg Fogus of Pulaski, Virginia; Cynthia and Jason Dancy of Granite Falls, North Carolina; Stephanie and Grayson Patton of Glade Valley, North Carolina; sons and daughters-in-law David and Debbie Fields; Bobby and Jamie Fields all of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Wanda and Dean Mabe of Sparta, North Carolina; Cynthia Montgomery of Hillsville, Virginia; Emma and Roger Leath of Lexington, North Carolina;  brother and sister-in-law Robert and Charlotte Delp of Maryland; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 5:00 PM in the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Stowers and Sammy Holderfield officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
