Swanson Homer Sawyers age 90 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Sawyers was born in Carroll County, Virginia on September 4, 1928 to Robert Lee and Nola Wright Sawyers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Altie Sawyers; daughters Phyllis Ann Sawyers and Patricia Sawyers Patton; sisters Bitha Hunley; Nirel Alley and Frances Moxley; brothers Buford Sawyers; Garland Sawyers and Virgil Sawyers.

He is survived by two daughter and sons-in-law Jacqueline and Robert Smythers of Galax, Virginia; Sharon and Larry Spurlin of Cana, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Wayne and Lorraine Sawyers of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Johnny and Ruthie Sawyers of Woodlawn, Virginia; son –in-law Tony Patton of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren Sherrie Wilson; David Sawyers; Tammy Lineberry and Kayla Sawyers; four great-grandchildren; nine great –great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
