Susie Jane McMillan Stamper, age 80, of Galax, VA died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston Salem, NC.

Mrs. Stamper was born Dec. 20, 1927 in North Carolina to Arthur Field and Ruth Della Burchett McMillan.

She is survived by two daughters, Demmie Ruth Breeding, Galax, VA, Ella Ruth Stoneman, Galax, VA, sons, Joe Stamper and Charlie Stamper, both of Galax, two sisters, Rosie Upchurch of Pennsylvania and Virginia Holliway, Sparta, NC., two brothers, Tommy W. McMillan, Pennsylvania and Joe McMillan, Sparta, NC, ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and several nieces &
nephews.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov 25, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with burial to follow in the Piney Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Myron Dalton and the Rev. Sam Loggins.
