Susan Mahalie Sexton's Obituary
Susan Mahalie Brown Sexton, 94, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday February 11, 2009 at the Oak Forest Health & Rehab in Winston-Salem. She was the widow of James Roscoe Sexton.
Mrs. Sexton was born November 7, 1914 to Creed Emory Smith and Lydia Edwards Smith in Carroll County, Virginia.
She is survived by daughter & son-in-law: Irene Brown and Otis Horton; and son Lee E. Brown all of Winston-Salem, NC. Four grandchildren and spouses Jeffery Brown & Phyllis, Jennifer & Kevin Moser, Angie Leah Brown and Randy Lee & Cheri Horton; sister Maude Lowe of King, North Carolina. Five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 13, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with interment to follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery in Galax.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM Friday until time for the funeral service.
