Sue Stanley Parsons age 73 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday, July 6th at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, Va. She was born in Stanleytown, Virginia on July 4,1933 to the late Clyde Vaughan and Ruth Brown Stanley. She was a retired teacher at Galax Elementary Shcool and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Susan & Mark Fackrell of Galax, Va.; two grandchildren, Matthew & Ashley Fackrell; two nieces; two nephews; four first cousins and her beloved cat, Buttons. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 8th at 10:30 AM in the First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowrs the family request donatins be made to the Galax Foundation For Excellence in Education to establis a scholarship in honor on her name.
