Steve Michael Kirkland age 62 of Galax, Va. passed away Monday, July 7, 2008 at his home. Steve was born in North Carolina on October 6, 1945 to Dewey & Ruby Simonds Kirkland. He is survived by his wife Susan Kirkland of Galax, Va.; children & spouses Hollye & Jeff Moser; Carrie & Greg Worrell all of Galax, Va.; Todd & Kathy Kirkland of Hillsville, Va.; sisters & brother-in-law Mary Ann & Larry Boone of Mt. Holly, N.C.; Billie J. Wilkinson of Sevierville, Tennessee; father-in-law Pete Richardson of Roanoke, Va.; six grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Felts Memorial Cemetery with Charlie Smith & Rev. Cas Horton officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Twin County Hospice.
