Stella Imogene Spence age 80 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Spence was born in Galax, Virginia on March 22, 1938 to Hamilton Gray and Willie Aldred Sexton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kirby Nelson Spence.

She is survived by her sons David Spence of Newbern, North Carolina; Michael W. Spence and his special friend Carol Crowder of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouse India and Tim Schaefer; Justin Spence; great-grandchildren Scarlett Smith; Arianna Schaefer; brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Debbie Sexton of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Galax Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Theron Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Galax Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be private for the family.
