Stanley Dwight Carter age 61 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at this home.

Stanley was born in Radford, Virginia on December 20, 1956 to Denton and Leona Grimes Carter. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother Greg Carter.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Carter of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Dwight and Paula Carter of Galax, Virginia; Dustin and Rachel Carter of Fancy Gap, Virginia; mother Leona Grimes Carter of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren Tucker Carter; Kale Carter; Havana Carter and Adalyn Carter; sister and brother-in-law Janie and Cecil Hawks of Woodlawn, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Gary and Vanessa Carter of Galax, Virginia; Milton and Violet Carter of King George, Virginia; sister-in-law Mary Carter of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; a host of many loving family members and friends.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 7:00 PM in the Cliffview Church of God with the Rev. Jackie Poe, Pastor Don Fox and the Rev. Ron Hill officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Cliffview Church of God. Burial will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
