Stacy Lee Butler Cox

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Stacy Lee Butler Cox, 57, of Galax, Virginia who has received her eternal healing from our Lord Jesus on Sunday, October 18th, 2026. She was born in Waddell Hospital on March 31, 1969 to James and Jacqueline (Jackie) Butler. She was a devoted Mother, Gaga, Daughter, Friend and Believer in the Gospel and Eternal Life. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones and the word of God. She fought a fearless battle with breast cancer for 13 years and received her ultimate healing. Through her multi-year journey with the disease, she showed remarkable resilience, a beautiful smile and contagious laugh. She never allowed her circumstances to become her identity. Instead she chose to focus on the beauty of everyday moments, looking for shark teeth on the beach, painting beautiful pictures, drinking too much coffee, spending time with her family, playing with her grandchildren, memorizing scripture, and learning more about our Lord and Savior every day. Stacy was a mother to so many children. Her heart and her home were always open, and so many children were blessed to know what it felt like to be loved by her.

She is survived by her parents and two daughters and sons-in-law Lauryn and Logan Wilson and Jordyn and Jonathan Harri; Grandchildren Rylee James Wilson and Gunnar Hayes Wilson; Brother and sister-in-law Michael and Betty Butler; Nephew Jamie Butler; and Honorary daughter Kenda Robinson.

A celebration of Stacy’s life will be held at Endless Possibilities Church, 627 Glendale Road, Galax, Virginia  on Wednesday,  October 21st, 2026. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 P.M with service to follow at 2pm. Burial to follow the service at Felts Cemetery.
