Sonny LaRue age 65 of Fries, Virginia passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Sonny was born on October 13, 1946 in Pulaski County, Virginia to Steven and Lula Davis LaRue.

He is survived by his wife Laura LaRue of Fries, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law J.W. and Heather LaRue of Rural Retreat, Virginia; Eddie LaRue of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Rocky LaRue of Draper, Virginia; Lance LaRue of Dublin, Virginia; grandchildren Addison LaRue, Jason LaRue, Jessica LaRue, Amber LaRue and Sunni LaRue; one great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law Ronnie and Jean LaRue of Pulaski, Virginia; step-mother Willie Martin LaRue of Pulaski, Virginia; step-sisters and spouses Brenda and Phillip Bevil; Connie and Jack Jackson; Donna and Ricky Dungan; step- brothers and spouses Gary Martin; Jerry and Elaine Martin; Larry and Donna LaRue; David and Monica LaRue; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Stevens Creek United Methodist Church with Ralph Jones and Jack Rutherford officiating. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Atkins Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery with Military Rites by Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Fries Rescue Squad, Fries Fire Department or any fire department of the donor's choice.
