Mrs. Shirley Temple Melton, age 74, of Lexington, NC died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 in the Thomasville Medical Center, Thomasville, NC.
Mrs. Melton was born in Carroll County, VA on April 28, 1936 to Daniel and Vertie Atkins Ring.
She is survived by her husband, Linwood Dean Melton, Lexington, NC, daughters & sons-in-law, Pamela & Kenneth Hayes, Lexington, NC, Vicky Cameron, Knoxville, TN, Sharon & David Burnworth, High Point,NC, sons & daughters-in-law, Timothy & Brenda Melton, High Shoals, NC, Donald & Tammy Melton, Archdale,NC, sisters, Geraldine Lawson, High Point, NC, Clara Leonard, Pulaski, VA, brother, Lester Ring, High Point,
NC, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Melton.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010 at 3:00 PM
in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with burial to follow in the Melton Cemetery. The officiating minister will be the Rev. Ernie Smith. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, VA.
