Shirley Mae Melton age 83 of Woodlawn, Virginia, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Melton was born September 21, 1942 in West Virginia to Cloive and Callie Simpkins Lester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother William Lester.

She is survived by her husband Pete Melton of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughters Dana Anders; Marie Hill Karen (Pony) Eggers; sons and daughters-in-law Charles & Lorinda Hazelwood; Johnny and Cathy Hazelwood; Tony and Gina Hill; brothers and sisters-in-law James and Sylvia Lester; Fred and Joyce Lester; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister -in-law Patricia Lester.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from four until six at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, West Virginia on February 26, 2026 at 2:00 PM..
