Shirley Lorraine Bartlett Melton age 86 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Melton was born in Galax, Virginia on July 13, 1931 to George Washington and Katie Mae Thomas Bartlett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Warren Melton.
She is survived by two nieces Eleanor Maiden Green and Linda Stephanie Bowling of Richburg; nephew Stanley A. Maiden; step-daughters and spouse Darlene Melton Weatherman and Robert of Galax, Virginia; Charlotte Melton of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Linda Melton of Roanoke, Virginia; several great nieces and great nephews; one great-great-niece.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
