Shirley Edwards Kenny age 68 of Galax, Virginia passed away October 10, 2006 at her home. She was born in Galax, Virginia on March 9, 1938 to the late Curtis Ray and Sarah Alice Burnett Edwards. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ray Kenny. She is survived by a son Mitchell Ray Kenny of Galax, Va.; sisters and brother-in-law, Deanna Hudson of Galax, Va.; Barbara & Scott Jenkins of Louisville, Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Althea Lanfest Edwards of Stokesdale, N.C.; Nadine Kenny Dalton of Galax, Va.; Christine Kenny Tatem of Beford, Va.; brothers-in-law & spouse, Larry & Mary Kenny of Galax, Va.; Jimmy & Joyce Kenny, Jerry & Carla Kenny all of Roanoke, Va.; several nieces & nephews; several aunts & uncles and many special relatives and friends also survive. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 13th at 2:00 PM in Vaghan-Guynn Chapel with Richard White and Bud Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
