Shirley Ann Blackburn Caudill Brewer age 70 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at her home.

Shirley was born on December 16, 1941 in the Fox Community of Grayson County, Virginia to Carl and Etta Duncan Blackburn. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband of 38 years Charles E. "Chuck" Caudill and brothers Gayle Blackburn and James Blackburn.

She is survived by her husband Robert N. "Bob" Brewer; daughter and son-in-law Rebecca A. "Becky" and Brett Bowes; son and daughter-in-law Charles A. "Tony" and Sharon Caudill all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Jared and Jessica Caudill; step-sons and spouses Joey and Laura Brewer; Sam and Charlotte Brewer; step -grandchildren Jeremey and Harley Brewer; Nicole McKnight; step-great-grandchildren Rosalyn "Annabelle" Brewer and Shawn McKnight; sisters and brother-in-law Pauline Burcham; Lou Ella and Rudolph Rutherford all of Galax, Virginia; Gwyn Church of Sparta, North Carolina.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Holder officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at the church.
