Shirley Bond Griffin age 82, of Fries VA, passed away peacefully at her home on October 15, 2025.  Her final days were filled with family, friends and enormous love.

She was born on October 23, 1942 to the late Earnest Bond Sr. and Clarice Smith Bond.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Wayne Griffin, father of her children Alger Taylor, infant daughter Michelle Fay, sister Linda Byrd and brother Jerry Bond.

Those left to honor her memory are her daughters, Melany Taylor (Jadd Murphy) and Melinda Hall (Ronald); granddaughters, Natalie Arduin (Kelly Wilmore), Jessica Houser (Jeremy), Brittany Hall and Danielle Hall (Zachary Free); great grandchildren Kamrin Arduin, Smith Houser and Nixon Houser; sisters Darlene Rowland and Helen Lyons (Roger); brother Junior Bond, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Shirley enjoyed the simple things in life including many fishing trips with her husband Wayne, caring for her beautiful flowers, and jam nights at the Fries Theater with special friends, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

To honor her wishes, there will be a graveside service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, in Fries VA Saturday October 18, 2025 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Rodney Christman officiating. There will not be any visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to either the Mt. Olivet Church or Endless Possibilities Church.
