Shirley Mae Cox Baumgardner. age 59, of Atlantic Beach, NC, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 in Atlantic Beach. Shirley was born April 7, 1950 in Galax, Va. to Ubert & Edna Olean Vaughan Cox.

She is survived by her husband, William Bill Koch, Atlantic Beach, NC, daughters & son-in-law, Tina Leigh Baumgardner Wood, Woodlawn, VA,
Jessica & Johnny Phillips, Galax, VA, Renee Barbour, Baywood Community, Galax, VA and Amy Barbour Arrington. brother & sister-in-law, Nelson & Iva Jean Cox, Hillsville, VA, sisters & brothers-in-law, Ann & Richard Price, Low Gap, NC, Eva Sue Sizemore, Galax, VA, Nancy & Roger Lineberry, Galax, VA, Connie Jeanette & Preston Newman, Galax, VA, special sister and brother-in-law, Ann & Richard Price, Low Gap, NC, seven grandchildren, Shae Wood, Joey Baumgardner, Carrie Phillips, Taylor Surrate, Tyler Phillips, Ashley Sawyers, Chloe Arrington, special cousins, Jewel Atkins, Ruby Goad and special friend, Bobby Lee Daniel. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Jessie Lee Baumgardner and Eddie Barbour, sisters, Effie Marie Sisk and Mary Cox, brothers, Lee Cox & Walter Forest Cox.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Pastor Mark Carrico will be the officiating minister and burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery.
