Sherman McDaniel Sawyers age 56 of Fries, Virginia passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at his home.
Sherman was born in Patrick County, Virginia on April 24, 1953 to William Walker and Susan Delia Smith Sawyers.
He is survived by his special friend Janice Melton of Fries, Va.; sisters and brothers-in-law Louise & Ron Jones of Pinnacle, N.C.; Josephine & Ike Larry of Woodbridge, New York; Geneva Reyes of Galax, Va.; Lealur Reddick of Mt. Airy, N.C.; brothers and sisters-in-law Johnny & Treva Sawyers; Leroy Sawyers all of Galax, Va.; Walter Lee & Doris Sawyers of Mt. Airy, N.C.; sister-in-law Cindy Sawyers of Winston-Salem, N.C.; host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends; special friends Don Melton and Kelley Hodge.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
