Shelva Dean Padgett age 66 of Mt. Airy, North Carolina passed away Monday, February 8, 2010 in Northern Hospital of Surry County.
Shelva was born on March 26, 1943 in Carroll County, Va. to Daniel Lee & Verdie Victoria Fortner Ring.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Ellis Ring, Hardy Ring and Gernie Ring.
She is survived by her husband Jim Padgett of Mt. Airy, N.C.; son Tracy Brannock of Galax, Va.; sisters & brother-in-law Clara Leonard and friend Charles Whitaker of Pulaski, Va.; Jeraline Lawson of High Point, N.C.; Shirley & Lynwood Melton of Troy, N.C.; brother Lee Ring of High Point, N.C.; sister-in-law Barbara Morris of Galax, Va.; grandchildren & spouse Jennifer & Shawn Graham; Ronnie Brannock; great-grandchildren Katie Elizabeth Graham and Lucas Shawn Graham; several nieces & nephews; two favorite pets Tippy and Snuggles.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 2:00 pm in Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Donald Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
