Sandra Coomes Wells age 76 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in the Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Sandra was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee on January 21, 1945 to Gene and Katherine Smith Hackler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Robert L. Coomes, Jr. and sons Timothy Christopher Coomes and William Travis Coomes.

She is survived by her husband Fred Wells of Cantonment, Florida; son and his special friend Shane Coomes and Rebecca Watson of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara and Theron Hall of Danville, Virginia; Pat and Johnny Fielder of Galax, Virginia; brother-in-law Victor (Bud) Tucker of Pelham, North Carolina; six grandchildren Krista Ward (Justin); Aaron Coomes; Kendra McKinnon (Kevin); Katie Coomes; Colton Coomes and Caleb Coomes; five great-grandchildren Kylie Ward; Mason McKinnon; Asher McKinnon; Ellie McKinnon; Madalyn McKinnon; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Galax Country Club with Theron Hall officiating.
