Samuel Garland Hoffman, Sr. age 84 formerly of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey. Mr.Hoffman was born on November 7, 1922 in Mouth of Wilson Va. to Edgar & Verdie Hoffman. He is survived by his wife Frances Hoffman; son & daughter-in-law Sam & Wendy Hoffman of Chesterfield, Va.; daughter & son-in-law Elaine & George Hermey of Port Monmouth, New Jersey; daughter Janet Frame of Hawkinsville, Georgia; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson. The funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Jimmie Marion and Rev. James Cowley officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery with Military Rites by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
