Ruth I. Williams Turner, 97 of Woodlawn, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Heritage Hall-Laurel Meadows in Laurel Fork, Virginia.

Mrs. Turner was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 5, 1927 to the late Roby Curtis and Belzora Burcham Williams.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Quinton C. Turner; daughter, Carol Sloan; father of her children, Gray Turner; and brothers, Glenn Williams, Perry Williams, and Jimmy Williams.

Survivors include her son, Donnie Turner and Janie of Draper; granddaughter, Sandra Prewitt Wright and Heath of Hillsville; great-grandson, Ryan Prewitt of Hillsville; sisters, Dee Moore of Roanoke, Faye Welsh of Galax, and Edna Hanks and Nelson of Woodlawn; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ronnie Isom officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
