Ruth Caudell Tomlinson, 93, of Fries, Virginia passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, Virginia. Mrs. Tomlinson was born June 1, 1923 in Roanoke, Virginia to John C. and Flossie Lorene Phipps Caudell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gus Tomlinson; sisters Helen Perdue, Kathleen Hall, and Alice Shepherd; brothers Raymond Caudell, Louie Caudell, Glenn C. Caudell, and Johnny Caudell.

Mrs. Tomlinson was a fifteen (15) year member of the Grayson VFW Post 7726 Auxiliary.

She is survived by daughter Regina Stoneman Halsey of Fries; grandchildren John Anthony (Tony) Burris, Bryan William Burris, Lori Ruth Roberts; great grandchildren William Eli Burris, Benjamin Kyle Burris, Adam Coble Burris, Ethan Andrew Burris, Eli W. Roberts, and Andi Ruth Roberts, and special niece and nephew Jonnie Collins and David Caudell. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gloria Lancaster Rhudy officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
