Ruth Reedy Reeves age 90 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at her home.

Mrs. Reeves was born on April 7, 1934 in Rugby, Virginia to Blaine Denton and Jincy Cleo Young Reedy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Willard Reeves, Sr.; son Terry Reeves; daughter Pam Shaffner; twelve siblings and special friend Carlin Marshall.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Rusty and Darlene Reeves of Wytheville, Virginia; Chris and Jeanne Reeves of Max Meadows, Virginia; Greg Reeves of Fries, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Jean Reedy of Salem, Virginia; eight grandchildren Jennifer Shaffner; Lisa Reeves; Jerome Shaffner; Chad Reeves and Brittany Roberts; Julie and Ben Brewer; Amanda & Christian Hall; Carly & Whitney Reeves and Luke and Ashlyn Reeves; thirteen great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews; son-in-law David Shaffner; special caretaker Amy Drummond.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 4th at 3:00 PM in the Fries Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Jeff Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time for the funeral service at the church.
