Ruth Elizabeth Redd age 79 of Fries, Va. passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Redd was born on June 14,1929 in Grayson County, Va. to Guy Clark Mitchell Brown & Myrtle Gay Hutchenson Brown. She is survived by her husband Harvey Jackson Redd of Fries, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Gary & Patricia Hampton of Fries, Va.; daughters & sons-in-law Cathy & Virgil Dixon of Galax, Va.; Elizabeth & Dedrick Phillips of Fries, Va.; brother & sister-in-law Mitchell Kyle & Sharon Brown of Fries, Va.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 1,2008 at 12:00 o'clock in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Stacy Redd officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 until 12:00 at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
