Ruth Blackburn Pugh, age 91, of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday May 18, 2024 in Grayson Nursing and Rehab.

Ruth was born on December 8, 1932, in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Arthur Glenn and Jane Taylor Blackburn. She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Thurman Pugh and brother Robert Dean Blackburn.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Pugh of Galax, Virginia; sister Arlene Hoyle of Conover, North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law Junior and Bonnie Blackburn of Galax, Virginia, Jim and Hazel Blackburn of Independence, Virginia. as well as several nieces and nephews. Ruth also had two beloved pets, Harlee and Hershey.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Snow Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Ernie Smith officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Snow Hill Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at Snow Hill Baptist Church.
