Ruth C. Combs' Obituary
Ruth C. Combs age 86 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Combs was born in Grayson County, Virginia on March 18, 1926 to John and Rose Higgins Cooley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sidney Combs; daughter Becky Parish and brother Herbert Cooley.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Kenny Ross of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Roger and Judy Combs of Radford, Virginia; sister Marie Cooley of Galax, Virginia; special family friends Keith and Sherry Parish; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Vale United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Callahan officiating. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior the service. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Mt. Vale United Methodist Church or to Twin County Hospice.
