Ruth Ann Carr age 58 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Carr was born on December 22, 1948 in Grayson County, Va. to the late Paul & Mabel Shupe Leonard. She is survived by her husband J.D. Carr of Galax, Va.; daughter & son-in-law Paula & Donnie Melton of Fancy Gap, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Jay & Christie Carr of Galax, Va.; brothers & sisters-in-law James & Dora Leonard of Morristown, Tennessee; Clifford & Louise Leonard of Martinsville, Va.; Charles Leonard of Fries, Va.; six grandchildren; six nieces & nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 7:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Sam Blevins officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until seven at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans of Galax.
