Ruth Slate Brown age 69 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at her home.
Ruth was born in Galax, Virginia on March 8, 1944 to Preston J. and Hallie Elizabeth Rosenbaum Slate. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two grandchildren Anthony Adam Bishop and Aiden Paul Bishop and a brother William Slate.
She is survived by her husband Ralph Maynard Brown; daughters Tammy Ruth Brown and Ramona Kay Rippey; sister Mary Isom; brother Jim Slate all of Galax, Virginia; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
At the request of Mrs. Brown her body was cremated and the service was private.
