Russell Bryant Dickerson age 81 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Dickerson was born in Bedford, Virginia on March 17, 1937 to William Bryant Dickerson and Frances Willard Sanders Dickerson.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann of Galax, Virginia; children Russell (Rusty) and Christi of Atlanta, Georgia; Timothy  of Kernersville, North Carolina; Stephen  of Florida; Jason  of Florida; Deborah and Joe  of Kernersville, North Carolina;  grandsons Russell "Brent" ; Brandon  both of Roanoke, Virginia; Brianna  of Kernersville, North Carolina; Nicholas of Gibsonville, North Carolina; Michael  of Greensboro, North Carolina; five great-grandchildren  Maddi ; Cory ; Bradley ; Camden and Niko;  brother and sister- in-law Dwight and Barbara Dickerson of Roanoke, Virginia.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Rosenfeld officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the First Baptist Church. Friends are invited to attend the burial of the cremains in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Virginia, Friday March 15, 2019 at 10:00 AM.
