Rufus Olson Eastridge age 81 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Mr. Eastridge was born on May 5, 1942 in Galax, Virginia to  Lee Stephen and Annie Adkins Eastridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Dell Melton Eastridge; sisters and brother-in-law Crilda and T.M. Jones; Rilda Holdaway and a brother Wilburn Eastridge.

He is survived by one daughter Melissa Gravely of Galax, Virgina; sisters Milda Bowers and Hilda Lineberry both of Woodlawn, Virginia; Tilda Phillips of Galax, Virginia; sister-in-law Margaret Eastridge; two grandsons Brandon Gravely and Kevin Gravely; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a very special friend and neighbor Roger Jones.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Sammy Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Melton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
