Rufus Junior Brown age 88 of Greensboro, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in the Cone Green Valley Hospital in Greensboro.

Mr. Brown was born in Sparta, North Carolina on May 7, 1932 to Garnett and Ruth Dixon Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings Carol Edwards and Ray Brown.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife Betty Brown of Greensboro, North Carolina; sons and daughter-in-law Gary Brown of Graham, North Carolina; Kevin and Jan Brown of Summerfield, North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law Mary Lee and Ronnie Greene of Sparta, North Carolina; three grandchildren Terrin Brown; Amanda Smallwood and Dylan Brown; five great-grandchildren Greyson Smallwood; Walker Smallwood; Jameson Brown; Knox Brown and Cecelia Brown; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the Pleasant Home Cemetery in Sparta, North Carolina with Keith Hommema officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mask and social distancing will be required at the graveside service.
