Ruedolph Rutherford age 84 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 in the Lotus Village Center in Sparta, North Carolina.

Mr. Rutherford was born in Grayson County Virginia on July 24, 1939, to Harve and Winnie Galyean Rutherford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lou Ella Blackburn Rutherford three sisters Nina Carico; Eva Nichols and Iva Burcham; an infant brother Harry Rutherford; and a half-brother Bruch Jones and sister-in-law Joann Owens Rutherford; brothers-in-law Mitchell Carico, Louis Nichols and Archie Burcham.

He is survived by his brothers and sister-in-law Thomas Franklin (TF) Rutherford; James Herbert and Ruth Rutherford all of Galax, Virginia; Several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Olivet Union Baptist Church with Elder Wayne Todd and Elder Larry Woodle officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the church.
