Rubye Burcham Atkins' Obituary
Rubye Burcham Atkins, age 97, of the Carsonville Community, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 in the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, Elkin, NC.
Mrs. Atkins was born Sept. 17, 1918 in Carroll County, VA to Tolliver and Ina Brady Burcham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Dane Atkins, children, Nell Geraldine Atkins and Daniel Dane Atkins, II.
She is survived by daughters & sons-in-law, Christine & Bill
Blevins, Woodlawn, VA, Linda Jane & James Osborne, Spring Valley, VA and Ann & Donald Hodges, Carsonville, VA; grandchildren, Daniel Osborne, Jonathan & Rebecca Osborne and Dana and Bradley Hughs; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Jakob, Joshua, Katelin, Michael and Melissa.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016 in the Summerfield United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Summerfield United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service Tuesday at the Church. Officiating will be Minister Mary Hessler.
In lieu or flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Summerfield Cemetery Fund, C/O Abigail Boyer, 403 Churchview Lane, Fries, VA 24330.
